As part our Careers Education and Guidance programme, Year 11 students had an extended assembly yesterday where we invited local colleges and sixth forms into school to talk about themselves and the courses they can offer our students once they leave The Hurst.

The college application process for September 2024 went live yesterday, so the event was perfect timing for our attendees Queen Mary’s College (QMC), Basingstoke ,Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) Sparsholt College and Peter Symonds College in Winchester, and The Willink Sixth Form.

The next Careers event for Year 11 is a visit from ‘Positively You’ at the beginning of November, who will deliver a workshop focusing on helping plan revision, prepare for exams and answer exam questions effectively. Later in November we are hosting our whole school Careers Fair, an opportunity for all our students to talk to local and national employers and find out more on a wide range of future career paths.
