The Hurst School
Triple Science Success!
New records were set this year in Biology, Chemistry and Physics with over 60% of the pupils entered gaining the top grades 8/9 (equivalent to the old A*). This follows on from our top of the County figures in Chemistry and Physics last year and our Head of Science, Margaret Cooper, being shortlisted for the prestigious Leadership Award at the Hampshire Education Awards this Autumn.
A fantastic 76% of pupils gained a grade 4 or higher in the core subject areas of English, Mathematics and Science. Students aiming for the top grades were also highly successful in Mathematics, Geography and Religious Studies.
Ellie Baird and Oliver O'Malley achieved an impressive 9 grade 8/9s with countless other superb performances from pupils of all abilities.
Ofsted visited The Hurst earlier this month and I am delighted to inform you that we have once again been judged to be a ‘good’ school.
This Ofsted judgement is testament to the enormous commitment that pupils, parents, staff and governors have given over the past few years.
