Key Stage 3 - Art (Year 9)

The title for Year 9 projects is 'A Thousand Faces'. Pupils study different artists and increase practical knowledge within four areas of specialism.

Fine Art: 'Celebrity Portraits' (drawing and painting skills)

Ceramics: 'Aztec Gods' (design and clay skills)

Graphics: 'Manga Advertising' (design and drawing skills)

Graphics/Textiles/Photography/Fine Art: 'Deface' (independant outcome)


Key Stage 4 - Art Specialisms

At Key Stage 4 we offer Art options in four specialisms. The exam board for all four is EdExcel.



60% coursework - made up of a personal portfolio. This portfolio will include evidence of artist studies, experimenting with materials and processes, recording ideas and creating personal responses to themes set by the teacher.

40% exam - includes 8 to 10 weeks of reasearch and development, followed by a 10 hour practical exam. You are expected to be prepared for the exam and enjoy spending two wholes days working on your own art.
