The Hurst Community College
The rain did little to dampen Year 7 spirits as they cheered on their cars during our first ever cross-curricular Bloodhound Challenge Day! RAF Odiham personnel fired the rockets that powered the winning car to a top speed of just over 30mph. The overall winners judged on a combination of design and speed were Keyah Salter, Poppy O’Reilly, Charlotte Long and Lily Thomas who went on to represent The Hurst at the regional finals in April. The girls designed and made a new car to race on the day and had a fabulous time.

We welcomed some Year 5 pupils from three Primary Schools, for an afternoon of physical challenges to test speed, agility and stamina. Pupils took part in 6 challenges ranging from rowing, sprinting and goal scoring. All the pupils performed well and enjoyed the afternoon, but special congratulations go to The Priory as the overall winning school. To complete the afternoon, pupils enjoyed a friendly but competitive game of handball.
