Sports and PE is not just about achieving great grades or KS3 levels.
We challenge you to get involved in as much inter-school sport (House Matches etc) and extra-curricular sport in order to gain as many social, mental and physical benefits as possible, as shown on the diagram.
At The Hurst, the PE department offer a broad range of team and individual curriculum based activities to allow our student to get the most out of their Key Stage 3 PE sessions.
Whilst enjoying and improving on their sporting abilities, they will develop an extensive knowledge of sports and exercise, learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle, whilst building confidence and learning how to evaluate their performance and that of others.
Within Key Stage 4, all pupils will continue to participate in Core PE, enjoying a variety of sports and activities in Years 10 and 11 and assisting them with their healthy lifestyle. We also offer two options for students following an academic route to choose from, GSCE Physical Education and BTEC Sport qualifications.
