Key Stage 3 - Art (Year 7)

Year 7 projects are inspired by 'The Living World'. Throughout Year 7 pupils develop art skills and study different cultures.

Fine Art: 'Impressionist Portraits' (learning to use tone and mark-marking, painting techniques and colour theory)

Projects cover:

Ceramics: 'Boggle-eyed bugs' (clay techniques)

3D/Sculpture: 'Dinosaurs!' (wire sculpture skills)

Key Stage 4 - Art Specialisms

At Key Stage 4 we offer Art options in four specialisms. The exam board for all four is EdExcel.

Assessment

60% coursework - made up of a personal portfolio. This portfolio will include evidence of artist studies, experimenting with materials and processes, recording ideas and creating personal responses to themes set by the teacher.

40% exam - includes 8 to 10 weeks of reasearch and development, followed by a 10 hour practical exam. You are expected to be prepared for the exam and enjoy spending two wholes days working on your own art.
