Hampshire County Council Fixed Penalty Notices
Following a recent High Court ruling, I have been informed by Hampshire County Council that fixed penalty notices must be issued to parents where a child has 10 or more unauthorised absence sessions (5 days or more). Prior records of attendance are not taken into account. Therefore from September 2017, holidays taken in term-time, for example, will result in a £60 fine per child per parent. Please note that these are not rules that the school has made and I have a legal duty to enforce them. For further information, please see the Council Code of Conduct below.
Should you need to take your child out of school during school time, a Leave of Absence form must be completed and returned to the Headteacher. You will then be notified if approval has been given.
IF YOUR CHILD IS OFF SICK, PLEASE CALL THE MAIN SCHOOL NUMBER BEFORE 9AM TO REPORT THEIR ABSENCE AND EACH CONSECUTIVE DAY AFTER.

Audition for the Music Competition. There are 6 categories. Choose your category and select a piece of music to perform. Please make sure:
- You know the piece really well and are confident performing in front of others
- The piece is no more than 3 mins in length. (you will only be required to perform the first couple of mins in the audition)
- If it is a vocal piece you MUST have a backing track. Performances on the day that do not have everything they need for the final performance WILL NOT GET THROUGH no matter how good.
- You are able to stay after school on the 26th June for the music competition and if you win you must be able to make the final performance between 6-7.30pm.
Participate in the sponsored sing. If you are interested in this you MUST attend rehearsals in room 306 on Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes.
Sign up for Battle of the Bands – there is no rock band element to the music competition so if you are in a band this is where you need to come. Rules as for the music competition.
Come and see Mrs Gamblin or Miss Townsend for any more details.
